I am fortunate in that my bride's Excursion came with a factory 44 gallon tank.

Very timely thread. I just closed on an F350 that has the extra 45 gal tank in the bed. It looks like a gravity feed system. I'm going to watch how it function before changing to a pump. I assume the pump can be added to the existing system, right?

My truck will be used very seldom. It may sit for 2 months at a time. Should I just run stabilizer all the time?

I have the Titan 52 and love it. Just reprogram the fuel system. It sure beats winding around cars at the pumps with a trailer or boat behind you.

My Duramax has a factory 38 over my F350s 28. I can get about 460-475 miles between fill ups towing which is not too bad. It is usually the wife or kids which makes me stop . . . LOL.

Lucky you! I have the crew cab with short body and have a 21 gal. tank!

Looks like Titan has a 41 gal. tank for my truck, may not seem too big but will double my range.. not to look for gravity feed options, be nice to be able to have 50+ gallons..

Picture is of a 55 Gal for some reason, 41 is max for my truck.

Diesel. I think these trucks come stock with a 38 gal tank. If so, I will have 83 gal.

I had a local diesel shop put in a gravity feed with a solenoid valve & a manual valve by the tank similar to you diagram worked great. Find a local diesel/rv shop most can do this work.

I had a 105 gallon tank put in when diesel first went to 4 bucks & i could still get 2 dollar diesel in Mexico before the drug war broke out.

Based on this thread I ordered and just installed titan 51 gal for my F350 4x4. Very nice unit and it is plug and play. Everything lines up although I did use the Titan extensions for the main fuel filler. Used a standard floor jack with small piece of 2x6 to lower old and install new. Call into Ford to see if they can reprogram my ECU for the increased capacity, I hear on the newest models this is no problem but not sure on my 08

Does your computer and fuel gauge work correctly?

I just bought a F350 with a 45 gal gravity feed aux tank. I have not used it yet, but the PO had it in for some time, so I assume it works without problems.

I don't know why someone would upgrade to a 52 from a 38. I think some trucks come with a 25. That would make sense. I see where there is an option for dual tanks from the factory. Why is this such a rare option?

Years ago I had a GMC with dual 20-something tanks with a toggle on the dash. This was so nice. Run 1 tank down to a quarter, then run the other empty, switch back and start looking for a station with distance to spare. No issues with the gauge.

@ Tim and J. Richard

not gravity the titan uses the OEM pump assembly. After detaching hoses and unplugging electrics drop the tank. The fuel pump assembly with floats is held in place with a screw on fastner. Once removed the entire assemply pulls out. Remove the SS o-ring from the titan unit held in place with several nylox nuts insert assembly, put on SS o-ring and tighten bolts.

Fuel guage works fine. At my local shop today and plugged into computer everything reading correctly but not able to get to the tank size so my DTE does NOT work properly. I should have it sorted by new years just figuring out how to get into fords feature-set.
