I upgraded to an ADL2. No wiring changes except to add USB connector and GPS. Took me a while to find a used ADL2 at a reasonable price ($2k). I have a beacon with tripod stand and battery I would sell for $400 plus shipping. I made a lot of notes about the upgrade to ADL2 I would be willing to share if you decide to go that route - moderately complex if you are handy.
