I know it's blasphemous...but I loved driving this Z06 race car today

Do the math ( I refuse) on cost of ownership over say 3 years of a Porsche and comparable Corvette race car. Even if it was even money upfront vs. a Cup- what is a refresh on Cup motor vs. completely new/rebuilt GM stroker? AND they throw in 2 more cylinders.
But I wouldn't own one. I must like the Porsche ethos- to do more with less. And I don't mean 6 cy vs. 8. I mean they get more of the money I give them so I end up with less. The pathetic thing is that I do it willingly.

Precisely. It's not just about the Benjamins.
If there is a premium to be paid for driving/racing a P-car vs. a Corvette or any other marque evidently most if not all here are willing to pay that premium. Doesn't make it right or wrongheaded- just a choice. Nice to have such good choices.

Having 300 ft lbs of tq and 300 rwhp is a wonderful thing Now I need to learn to get that to the ground as quickly as possible without spinning the wheels. I don't want to add rear tire as running 275's allows me a better wt/hp ratio in the class.
I really did not think that I would be able to get used to the manual brake setup but after 5 days of testing, I think I managed to get it dialed in (tilton dual-master cyclinder setup) and can deal with it. I just have to remember to push hard!!!!
Transmission gave out on the 5th day, I've drained the oil and no big chunks came out, I'm hoping that the shift forks are just warn Heck, the trans was 23 years old, never rebuild, and has been flogged on the track for the last 7 years. I've got a spare S2 box that will go in this weekend once I swap the LSD over.
