Dave Leonard, of SpeedSouth, greciously let me drive his full race Z06 for a few laps at Barber today. What an incredibly well-prepared, well-built, well-sorted racecar. It was so balanced, so predictable...it drove just like my M3 on steroids...or a Cup car on steroids.

I was really, really impressed...

I love the z06, a seriously impressive car in road or race spec.

A good race car is a good race car and is always fun to drive....even if it isn't a Porsche!

Cups don't have that kind of torque.

Dave,

Good seeing you at O'fest. I drove the SpeedSouth car on Sunday afternoon and had an absolute blast. Even with all the power, it was so easy to drive because it was so predictable and smooth! I need to hit the lottery so that I can have David build me one!

No idea. He had the data running but there is no dash laptime display, and there was some hellaciously slow DE instructor traffic on every lap that I had to wait for a pointby from to pass... Dave Leonard has done a 1:30 in the past in the car with 100% open track, for an idea of its potential.
