The video showing the section of track that was under construction is terrifying. I don't understand how you could have cars on circuit under those circumstances...

The video of the section in question has since been taken down, it was pretty damning if anyone got a chance to see it.

You can see the exact same situation here, go to about 7:50

A race control starter could have handed each driver a Ring Map with the construction zone marked and a suggested 40 mph speed limit for about 1 penny per driver.

Who says drivers were not warned in some way before going on track? With that said, the cones and signs should have started much sooner.

Here's a rear view camera from someone who had to pick his way through the scene at the 9:55 minute mark.... then just past 10:25 you hear, then see the ring taxi slam the wall, back in the distance

I don't know how they were warned but what ever was done seems to have a few shortcomings. I was trying to make a good suggestion. easy, cheap, and accurate.

Compared to Britain, I find Germany very relaxed. How many other countries have something like the Nordschleife, officially a one way derestricted toll road, that your insurance works on (not British) and your ADAC membership pays to retrieve your car in the event of a breakdown.

So ja, ja, ja wunderbar!

Scary place. I can't believe those guys were getting out their cars in the middle of that train wreck!
I found this video of Nürburgring yahoo highlights from the same crazy French drifter case cam guy.
