We estimate about $20-25/mile for gas/tires/maintenance items. This is not upgrades or amortizing some major repair, rebuild, entry fees, traveling, etc. Just the cost to run car.

My wife wants to go to NYC. I calculate the cost of the trip and divide by how many set of tires that buys. I gotta talk her out of it.

Well, maybe in Oklahoma it's ya'll.

But I was raised in Virginia, where we were learned how to spell.

Cmon now..

1) porsche's don't break down
2) If they have an issue, no one leaves a buddy behind
3) if you KNOW you have to drive to/at and home from an event, you might just learn to drive better

I've lived trailer free for decades now but have no issues with 1-2-4-8+ hour drives. Live confidently!

As to the OP, we all know you aren't supposed to "add up" receipts... Shame on you!

Something I have heard quite often in the "business".

When you decided to go RACING in your PORSCHE, what part of that sounded inexpensive to you?

But I was raised in Virginia,

Born, bred and raised Fauquier County...we rural kids never learned to spell, just to drive dirt roads and drink a lot of beer!

Email sent to Chas., btw, I owe him one and had forgotten.

Learned that quickly.......just need to get a legal seat, oh and finish my cage and get a transponder, go to the doc and have a physical, kill switch wired,.........now time to pay the entry fee

Sucks that it's so much fun! Just bought the wife a new car, hopefully that will get
me through another season with no questions.........

My odometer does not work. So I have no idea how many "miles" I have on my race car. I do track each session on track and probably could estimate miles, but why bother.

BTW... 10k can get you a turn key 944 spec race car.

Chakka,
All those expenses are safety related. Those are the easy ones to get OK'd by the wifey.
Ask Martin how many of his invoices start off with that heading?
