12 hours from home a few years ago when my alternator died. The nearest one had to be flown in from the other coast. I looked into costs and it was cheaper to stay in a motel and wait a couple of days for the car to be fixed than pay for a one-way rental truck and trailer.

I bought a trailer as soon as I got home and have been trailering (about 8 hours to the nearest track now) ever since.

Marc ... 8 hours to Race City Speedway? or 8 hours to Stratotech? If it's 8 hours to Race City Speedway, it will become even longer three weeks from now after the track permanently closes. Not counting Stratotech the closest track will soon become Mission BC or Lewistown Montana. Or is there a road track in Saskatchewan you also go to?
