Default I broke the cardinal rule.. added up my race car expenses

I think I was duped into it but I did it, let's just say I could have bought a new low end AUDI for what I spent on my lowly D Stock race car the past 6 months. Now I get to add in my engine rebuild and other stuff! I think I will reach 2006 Cayman numbers by yeas end.

Think of all the money you've saved on tires though.

Shred all the evidence/receipts..... The best part is you get pennies on the dollar when you go to sell. But the memories are so worth it.

Anyone ever add them up and have them total less that you expected?

I can honestly say I have never even THOUGHT of looking at them until last week. To be honest, I don't really care but it's a HS moment when the number in the spreadsheet is a one month world cruise 1st class!

I get seasick so who cares..

So long as the CFO does not see the uncooked books all is well.

My final was less than I rough guessed but more than the CFO thinks. This is not counting own labor. Add in my labor at $1.00 per hour and it goes up a good bit.

I've thought about doing it ONLY so that I could see what I've spent on parts vs what I've spent on labor. I suspect the number wouldn't be so shocking if I was able to do all the work myself.

I'm pretty sure I've paid a few years of college tuition for my tech's kids...

You guys got it all wrong. I added up all of my college tuition payments and I could have bought a brand new cup car, a new dually and a really cool trailer.

And some of you tell me I should take up racing; right...
Just finished son # 1's college payments - that was $210k. 2nd (and last) son is coming in around $175k. Both are worth it, though.
Oh, and we have the house in Maine, too.
I'm darned lucky to be able to do what I do.
