I had dropped out of the previous race after one lap, so I had gridded well behind where my competition was... I knew I needed to have a good start to get up to nick (yellow 993, #993, who was my main competition in GT4s for the 3rd spot on the podium). I got a bit lucky that the GTB2 car left a gap on the outside for me (and that he didn't squeeze me on to the grass)

Great race weekend with obvious weather issue's. My starts were far from aggressive since it was my first race. Watched a lot of cars go by thru T1 & T2, but was able to podium 2 of 3 races. All in all, learned a bunch and will be ready for next year!

I've watched a few of these vid's and I have to say that I am yet to see anyone taking full advantage of the exit of that carousel. There is a trick to this circuit, that equates to much higher speeds leading up to and under the bridge. No one is doing it, from what I can see, maybe it's hard to do in heavier cars, but there's time being thrown out....

Frank, that's harsh! Since you don't race with us at Summit, care to share your "speed secret"

Don't mean to be harsh, Johnnie boy, just sayin'.
The goal is to get out of there and be flat as early as possible.
Everyone seems to be lifting just a bit before the right that leads to the bridge straight.
Adjust the line so you're flat.
Not gonna say more than that.
And if it weren't for the college SAT's last weekend, I'd have been there.... I've got hours and hours at that track, did numerous 12 hour enduros and won a few PCA's as well.

Frank, you must be a genius to have figured out the magic line through summit that has evaded the rest of us.. yes, it's different in heavier, higher hp cars... in the miata I'm flat from 6a to the braking zone of 10... I'm sure very similar to your 944. You'd end up in the bushes if you try that in my 993. Also keep in mind that the track was very green (rained all day the previous day and was still drying on Sunday morning.. and there was actually standing water at the track out point of 9).

Fair enough, never mean to be argumentative, but I'm also recalling a few comments from last year where a certain fellow was convinced that he must be way down on power because he was getting blown away under the bridge never realizing that his line was way off. Not you guys.
I'll go back to minding my own business now....

(wasn't that a bit "harsh" though, Ninja?)

I saw first hand how bumpy it really is through there this past weekend. You can't see it from looking at the pavement, I know you can feel it in the car though. I watched that yellow GT-3 (#331?) lift a front wheel on the bumps. I was surprised how bumpy it was.
