Daytona PCA club race-7-9 Oct

Even though you can't register yet (opens tonight) you still can see the the events and prices. There is a sprint race, 90 minute enduro and a 3 hr enduro. My understanding is that the 90 minute enduro is part of the 3 hour enduro. First of all, all of us appreciate all the hard work that goes into this, but I would of liked to see 2 sprints. It's $650 to do the 1 sprint, yes I know it's a big world famous track - but I would of liked to do 2 sprints and the 90 minute enduro. Hard to commit and pay for a 3hr enduro up front. I hope it works out well for PCA. Still plan on doing it - just my 2 cents.

Sprints and Enduros
Lou-We'll have the normal fun races on Friday, 2 sprints for each group on Sat. and the enduros (90min and 3 hr) on Sunday. Depending on the numbers that sign up we'll either have a combined 90min and 3hr enduro or two separate enduros. We won't be able to determine the lay out until we're closer to the race and know the numbers. I could speculate but it's a bit early for that. If anyone wants to contact me directly my email is turbo91188@comcast.net.

I love this track and this PCA race. Did it for the 1st time in 2009 and missed it dearly in 2010 due to the re-paving.
However, much rather see 2 Sprint races. I think those long Enduros (more than 90mins) are just car and budget killers. The cost of running and wear and tear increases exponentially with race time, and chance ends up playing a bigger factor in race results.
Long endurance racing is for bigger budget Pro racing IMO (in higher power cars specially).

Enduros
Point well taken. That's why we are also offering the 90min enduro. This (the 3hr enduro) is a first for PCA Club Racing so consider it a Beta. There is another season ending race at Roebling in Dec that just does the sprints for three days. If you haven't ever raced at Roebling you're missing a great time and racing. It's where Lee Keen cut his teeth.

Allen,
I registered for the 3 hour enduro. I assumed that the 90 minute would be combined with the 3 hour. If not, please let me know as I'll have to register for the 90 minute also.
Carlos, 3 hours is fun (even in low HP cars ). See you there...... Juan

Guys, a point of clarification about the 3 hour enduro.
PCA rules require a mandatory driver change if the enduro is going to be longer than 90 minutes. So, if you are going to enter the 3 hour enduro, at some point before the enduro you've got to have a co driver. Also, under PCA CR's enduro protocols, any enduro longer than 90 minutes requires a second pit stop for every 90 minutes.
The host regions are very optimistic that this will bring an additional element of strategy to the enduro. Ron Mistak and I are looking forward to stewarding this race.

Re-reading this thread, I gather that the 90 and 3 hour enduros are separate. How do I add the 90 minute enduro on Clubreg? it does not allow (to my knowledge) a modification of a registration?

Enduros-Dos
Juan-unless we have more than a total of 88 cars for the enduro we will combine the two (90 min and 3hr) into one race. It's still a bit early to explain exactly how the single will be run but we intend on running all classes together just as we did in 2009. Best case scenario will be if we have enough racers to have two enduros. I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one. Right now we have 30 registered...still waiting on the surge!!! Come on guys/gals we could use your support. Looking forward to a great weekend of racing for all.
