Frank,
I watched you you spin and yes hit the guard rails right after the tires finished! Now why wouldn't they continue for those extra 20 feet is confusing in that section! Look at the bright side, the angle you hit could of been worse.

Sorry that you wrecked, Frank. I watched the video and felt sick the instant I heard your tires spin, even before the impact. Glad that you are ok and hope that the damage isn't too bad.

On another note, it was nice to meet your boys. I always enjoyed it when my sons come with me to the races, even though they are not boys anymore.

Now that I've watched it, it seems like I broke it loose on the upshift.

Exactly what it looked like, Frank. As you came off gas, it started to move, whhen you came back on gas in next gear it moved more. Always good to shift in the wet with the wheels 100% straight IMO... Glad you are OK, hope the frame is too.

yo! could have been far worse. actually looks pretty good in that photo. if it were a multi day event, you'd be back on track in a few hours.
some sheet metal in the rear. maybe some knockcs to the front fender but other than that, pretty light blow if you dont mind my saying. no blow is fun, no blow is light...but watching Deman barrel roll at VIR changes your perspective on what comprises a hard hit.
as stated previously, its just a car. thank goodness you are ok.

Yeah, and I'm fine with it. Actually I deserve it for being such a knucklehead. A light punishment, in hindsight.

Awesome juggling of the schedule. Coming from Toronto we really appreciated the effort to maximize the racing. We left Saturday at noon and had no problem with weather other than some rain and generally light traffic going through Philly.

Does anyone have the first race results from Saturday? I don't see them on MyLaps.

Not that I know didley squat from the next dude, but short shifting in the rain is always key.......keep the revs down so the car isn't as twitchy. I short shifted to 4th just before the left hander before the bridge, which turned out to be ideal as there was water running across the track so I had to lift anyway.

Results are up on MyLaps

^^Yeah, deifinitely a good point there. I actually tried lugging around in fourth a few times too, but the short shift is a good thought.

Bill, always great to share the garage and be around you guys at a race! And I must say, you really have some nice prep in that car.

Come on Frank you just like us because we bring Canadian beer It was good to catch up with you over a few drinks.
Now make a commitment that you will use those rain tires and not leave them on the trailer
See you at NJMP at the end of October.

Anyone have any pictures of the start of the 1st Blue Sprint from the S/F area? Was my first time on outside pole and never know when that will happen again! Also any video of the start from P2 on back would be nice, mine is a bit boring..
