I clean my ugly car after every race with any liquid cleaner/wax, it takes 20 min with an orbital.
The more frequently you do it the easier it is.

I recall a story about some NASCAR driver that would smooth his car off with Talcum powder before qualifying and saw a noticeable drop in times....

Glad to hear that; have two on the way.

Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover is also amazing at removing race rubber, is available at your local auto parts store, and is cheaper than just about any other option I've used.

Best product I've used to remove rubber. It leaves a nice waxed finish....

Hmm, we used to use taclum powder to get into dry suits for diving until someone tried liquid KY. Water solvent and works great. Used to get funny looks at the checkout counter with 5or 6 bottles. Now I wonder how the KY would work on my qualifying times?....
