Racing pedals advice needed......

Its just a matter of personal preference. The OEM rubber pedals are fine. I like the perforated metal pedals which will grip better if my shoes are wet.. I like them and thats the only rationale. Won't make me faster. I just just like them. I'd stay clear of the third party ones that have the little rubber pellets on metal instead of all rubber or perforated metal. Seems like the worse of either choice. But again - this is the just personal preference. There isn't a right choice. Its personal.

^Stair tread tape. It's stupid durable and sticks forever if you put some contact cement on the metal you're sticking it to. I have it a strip of it on the floor in front of the pedals as the floor pan gets slippery.

The grip/feel is far better with rubber covers removed, provided the metal face of the pedal is covered with cleats. Rubber covers in wet.

Or "grip tape".
Not sure rubber has much more grip than bare metal when wet. Some, yes, but not much more. Would think that deck tape, grip tape, sand paper or stair tread tape would be better.
Better yet, keep a small towel or rag in the car to wipe off your shoes after you get in.

Duh? I'm sorry the rest of us are so stupid in your eyes. Maybe the idea was obvious to you. Also, as someone pointed out, it's called "grip tape" and is applied to the skateboard deck.
Grip tape is a much better idea than the one I floated, that's for sure. The result would be the same, but grip tape is probably easier to find and is cheaper.
