From what I saw they are both at fault, the yellow car chopped, the white car didn't even try to avoid the collision like it was owed to him since he had a cup car.....

unless you take a bunch of curbing there is no way that pass was a good idea. He would have been better to try and leave room, pass just before T8 and keep you held up behind the yellow car all the way to the bridge.

The yellow car left more than a car width at the apex.

agreed

T7 is not a good turn to try a late brake pass. There is very little grip as the turn drops just before the apex and the curbing has two levels you can only lean on the first level. I have seen Miatas go straight all the way to the wall after trying to braking too late. There was a car width if the inside curbing was used.

Looks like there was a car width of asphalt to me(no curbing).

Greg, The radius on that turn is very large and car width yes, but not possible to make the corner and be faster or even with the lead car by not cutting the apex. IMHO the yellow car gave enough position and the attempted pass was optimistic at best. I passed cars in there multiple times, but you take on a load of responsibility doing so. If you don't pass before the next turn you cannot get a clean pass before the bridge straight which feels like eternity.

I think you are being kind. I checked my mirrors after 4 and thought .... yeah mike is miles away I am sure he will blast by after 5. then saw you in my mirrors and bailed out wide. Surprised me out by how fast you closed and we have been out there together many times. Glad it all worked out well
