Awesome 911design 987 at Rose Cup this weekend
Some of you may know of this car, but I never have seen it before. 911design ran this 3.8 twin turbo at the Rose Cup races this weekend. In the main race it placed second to a GT1 tube frame Camaro and destroyed basically everything else.
I heard various blurbs about some teething issues with the car but it was absolutely incredible and smoking fast. I have a few more of my own but slammed with work and haven't pulled them from the memory cards yet. Camden's will do just fine
Lots of other cool stuff like a Pirelli Driver's Cup race, Monte Shelton in his fire-breathing 934, and my own race with 23 Porsches from 944 to Spec 911 to GT3. But one post at a time...

That was the car's inaugural run, just wait till he gets it dialed in. Loren has built some pretty wild TT rides over the years and holds GT1 track records at many track including Road America from a few years ago....

At the Global Tuner Grand Prix, the 911 Design guys mentioned that he was building a TT 987 Box-Man. He's sort of a mad scientist when it comes to Porsche, but in a good way.
Good timing since his quasi-RSR was totalled in October...

I worked the Rose Cup race this past weekend and talked to Loren Beggs about the car. there was some discussion about the car as a mid engined 911 built by Fabcar back in the 90's. Phil Collins in Chicago has a sister car that he's run in PCA CR for some time and Carl Tallardy also owns a mid engined 911 built by Fabcar that he started racing in PCA CR last summer. I was a little surprised to see the car when it rolled out of the grid as the other two cars are bodied as 911's but this car was bodied as a Cayman but whatever it was, it was quick. Lots of discussion over the worker net about the car's acceleration out of various corners.
By the way, the Rose Cup is a wonderful event. A long tow for those not in the PNW but worth it as you get a lot of track time spread over 3 days as most entrants run in two or three different groups during the weekend.

Not to distract too much from this beautiful vehicle, but are the weekend's results posted anywhere? I couldn't find them through the official Rose Cup site...
