What I don't understand is why so many of the SP2 folks go down to 3rd gear in T1.

 

not really a crash- sounds like he popped a tire...that sucks.

 

Looks like he got tagged in the rear under braking by the 944 he passed down in turn one/two.

Something also prevented him from turning-in at his normal point... Was it a bump from the car behind? What caused the white car to spin?

 

I'm pretty sure it was. I saw those cars while racin' and they seemed to be hurt quite a bit.

And VR is right, this corner is a 4th gear one. You can go amazingly fast there.

Was the white car lapping the camera car? Granted I skipped through some sections of the vid but looks like that last run into the bus stop was the first defensive line of the video so leads me to believe the white car just came on the scene. Using the ol' DE saying "God didn't just drop him there", why not let him through?

 

Seems like he moved off line to "defend" his position on that white 944 that he passed earlier. (Looked to me like that white 944 must have done a bonehead pit out or something, closing speed was huge and he was on line at the time. ???) Gets punted at the bus stop when he fumbles the brake point.
More importantly, I think he's downshifting too early in braking zones, on a regular basis, putting a lot of negative pressure on that motor. Slow the car down more before downshifting.
