Well done to James. Pat has some catching up to do. I figured the high horsepower front engine rear drivers would do well at this track. Watch out for Skeen, he looks like the real deal!

I believe James has the most rewards weight of any GT car.

Skeen is fast/quick.....but......For some reason, Skeen's car has issues finishing a race. I dont know if they got that engine so tightly tuned....that it cant last 50 minutes....

I bet you will find the Caddy's at the top of the finishing order after both races..............

He already had a lot experience before that show.

Didnt look like much from what I saw on the show. He improved a lot before the end of the show. It kind of goes to show that many guys can run hot lap times and control their cars. However, its someting inside that allows some to survive in the big races and keep out of trouble by making good decisions. the rest is brand differences set up by the series. Pat Long in that vet might only be .5 seconds faster.
Having the best of the best as far as equipment, allows you to accelerate the lerning curve. He has done and is doing, very well. Im impressed!

nm

Looks like Long found the handle on the car for the second qualifying session. A whole second faster than the first qualy. Hard to tell when people are sandbagging in this series.

Mark-

You have no clue what you are talking about.

You are taking what you've seen on a reality show on SpeedTV as to what his skill level was and if/when/how it 'changed'. He's been karting since he was a kid.

Mike is incredibly fast and gifted. Very easy on equipment in the past and still is IMO. Extremely consistent. Top level pro coaches who look at his data talk about how great it is and how good it/he is technically. He's become better since the Speed show but he was already quite fast when that show was filmed.

yeah, I do. I saw enough of his skill sets on the show to make a judgment. certainly, there are many that start at this level and get very good very very quickly. I saw a lot of incar video in the next series he raced in too.
my point was that he did start from very little road racing experience, to a top road racer now with good equipment. I know a lot of guys that take a LOT longer to get fast ,and might never get to his level. there are some basic physical , athletic elements that some have and some do not no matter how much they race.

No really Mark. Base your judegments on a couple of youtube videos and a made for TV reality show that did everything in it's power to add drama and manipulate the appearance of what actually happened to keep people interested. Whatever you do don't base it on actual race results where he was 3rd in the SpecE30 championships that year or won it the following year.

Agreed. Skeen is a staggeringly excellent driver & racer. Kibort has no clue....about anything. Which is why most folks ignore him any more.

Mike Skeen has a good history running in Trans-Am. While he has been a well kept secret for a while does not diminish the fact that he is very well prepared to run in WC.

He is flattering the the car, not the other way around.

Dave,

He is now, but you are not. You have more excuses than snow on the north pole.

No clue? funny, lots of projection here now dave!

You do have quite a following of internet warriors here, Ill give you that.

more sheep following the herd.

Step up and hit the track sometime Davey!

Youre always going to be "RoachCoach" to many here!

Should I list the clueless gems you have left here on the boards?
