Thanks much Jack.

Greg Turek, Jim Childs and Chris Inglot are always fast there (and elsewhere). Nice job beating Chris (a good friend and the Wabbit to my turtle). You gotta consider that a good outing.

Glad you enjoyed it, Jack. We got off the track just in time in Sprint #2 - I was in the pace car.
And thanks for stepping up for the Wounded Warrior ride-along.

I want to publicly thank the drivers who helped me out with the Wounded Warrior track rides at Mid-O this weekend.

Greg Lewis
Jack Strifling
Jim Childs
Bruce Wentworth
Dick Snyder
John Brandt
Jim Ryback
Brian Peterson
Bob Heinzerling
John Peecock
Dave Hayden
Alan Shultz
Jet Hawthorn
Tom Todaro

The look on the Warrior's faces as they came off the track was priceless. I think it was a great event for all involved.

It really felt good to give back a little to a few of those who have given so much.

I'm proud to be associated with you guys.

Hooah

Does anyone have the results from the Green Enduro? I left before the results were printed. Had a great race with Jack in Sprint 1 and chased Jim Childs for 59.75 minutes in the enduro. God bless the 5 or 6 cars that ran the Sprint 2 in the rain. I was sliding while coasting. I went in after two laps as I did not have the periscope mounted in the race car!

Modesty prevents Chris from mentioning that the last 0.25 laps (actually about 1.7 turns). Chris and Jim diced all race with Chris filling various percentages of Jim's rearview mirror, except for the the pit stop that they made together when Chris pitted in front of Jim, until the rain increased to the point the Jim's dry tires could no longer hold on to the soaking wet track. This resulted in major fist pumps to come from the Blue car. It was a lot of fun to watch.

Yes, congratulations to Chris! He did an excellent job of keeping the pressure on hard for the entire race. Switching to dry tires before the start was the worst call I've ever made. If I could fire myself as crew chief I would. That was the longest hour of my life!

BTW Greg, congratulations on winning the non-Hupfer E class in Sprint 1 on Saturday. That was a fun dice early in the race with Uli, but toward the end, I just didn't have anything for you.

Sounds like all the E types had a ball.

(Greg, I'm never going to be able to look at you again without thinking of that avatar!)

Oh- BTW, Jim;
Timing & Scoring reported your pit stop time at 4:59.9.
I kidd you not.

That's news to me. I didn't see a penalty assessed in the results. Maybe they figured running on dry tires was enough of a penalty

Jim, your driving on dry tires was pretty stable. Having a close view, I only occasionally witnessed a bit of a squirm. I figured you knew the wet line pretty well. Nice pit stop. In math class, they round those up right? Road America, Labor Day, gives you a shot to equal the score to Greg & I. Interested?

"In math class, they round those up right?"
That's exactly what happened (at least by the radio transmissions).
Congrats on a great drive.

That's Jim, always trying to shave a tenth of a second... even in the pits!

Very interested. I've been wanting to race at Road America for years. Unfortunately my work schedule makes it difficult to travel to a long distance event during the first few days of a month. If I can figure out a way to do it I'll be there!
