Stay away from the Dodge 6.7 motors.
I have the Dodge 6.7 and it is a major POS, with 53,000 miles they have replaced the Turbo, Particulate filter/exhaust system and EGR system 3 times along with 16 other warranty issues all engine related. It is in the shop all the time and the steering rack needed replaced last week of course it was out of warranty to the tune of 700.00.
I have been a loyal Dodge customer for 14 yrs. Clearly this is a lemon, but apparently it doesn't don't meet the full requirements under their customer buyback option. They basically said sorry your stuck with it.
Sounds like I will be buying a Duramax

I just got back in from trading my "new" half ton Silverado Z71 for a "new" 2500HD Duramax. 2010 for a 2010 plus a little cash...LTZ for LTZ. It's a fancy truck, but not over the top.
I'm impressed with it already. The tranny is a thing of beauty and joy and on the highway empty, the truck actually rides a bit better than my old one.
I'm accustomed to my old Powerstroke; the new Duramax is dead quiet and feels quite "sporty" compared to the old Ford.

Got a '02 Duramax 2500HD 4x4 regular cab, an '08 Duramax 2500HD 4x4 crew cab and an '08 Duramax 3500HD Dually 4x4 crew cab.
All great trucks.
Had a '00 Ford F350 Powerstroke. Had to rebuild the transmission. Body fell apart. Oilpan rusted. How does and oilpan rust? It's covered with oil.
GMCs have been much more reliable.
