Default Looking for So Cal Race Prep shop

HI all,

thinking about adding a rollbar or rollcage, and various other features to make my 1994 964 more Trackable.
Who are some good Race prep shops in Los Angeles area?

BBi Autosport in Huntington. Betim and Joey both worked extensively with Porsche Motorsport. These guys are truly second to none when it comes to race prepping Porsches.

best to go with a shop that actually races.

GMG is a good one. Their shop is all about race prepartion.

Hergesheimer's and Vision are also great. They build great cars... worth the few minutes to call them and see some of their cars.

I would make the trip down to GMG Racing. Werks 2 is a good one in the Burbank area.

For an air cooled Porsche in SoCal, AASE Motors in Fullerton is probably best. They are certainly the most well represented with the POC.

Hergesheimer in Lake Forest is another good option. Many of the others mentioned are better for later model / water cooled cars.

If you are looking for suspension prep, then Suspension Specialties / Johnson's aligment (Steve Alarcon) in Torrance is a good alternative.

Cheers,

Whatever you do DO NOT GO TO TRE Motorsport in Van Nuys. Quite possibly the WORST shop in all of SoCal.

I agree with Duane's recommendations above with one addition. In the same complex as Alarcon's Suspension Specialities in Torrance is one of the best roll cage guys around, Jim Pierce
http://www.piercemotorsports.me/projects/

Also there is Tony Callas's shop. Tony has prepped cars for Porsche Motorsports and is one of the best Porsche shops in So Cal. http://www.callasrennsport.com/gallery/

Between those 3 shops all together in the same complex you would be in very competent hands....

I agree with above:

Hergesheimer Motorsports - ask for ERIC
BBI Autosport - ask for Joey

For your car I would lean towards Hergesheimer Motorsports and they are at all the POC events.

Wanted to thank you for all the recommendations! I usually track my 471 ft lb/500hp '65 Mustang Ftsbk full-Race Car, which is getting a new engine built. So lately have been having a blast going sideways through the turns in my little white 455hp 964 Turbo.
Got a set of Toyo R888's and Bilsteins all the way around, which has drastically improved my lap times...I figure it's time for a Roll Bar, seats, fuel cell perhaps.

all fun!

911 Design out in Montclair. I know it is a little far but they do real good work.

My recommendation would be to visit a few shops before you have anyone work on your car.

See who is doing what and find a shop that best suits your needs.

With that being said our doors are always open come on down and tour the facility and see what we do, we are located directly across the street from PMNA.

You can also take a look at some of the cage fabrication we do and compare to other work out there.

We take a pro level approach to the work we do, which is much different than most of the shops that do this sort of work.

Feel free to call or email me directly always happy to lend some advice regardless of who you choose to work on your car.
