I was sitting in the grandstand above turn 4, from my view it looks like he lost it in 4, spun and hit the tires with the left side of the car, left front first, then left side, then left rear, ended up on the right side of the track stalled, pointing the right way. He got it fired up after the checker, and drove around before the flatbed got there to pick him up. I saw the car in the paddock later but I didn't take a close look at it - there may be some rear suspension damage.

Unless he is a giant, should he be able to reach that door like that if he is properly belted in? I am 6' 3" with long arms and there is no way I could reach over and hold the door closed like that.

Fun to race in front of a decent crowd.

You are correct...
He's a giant!

You guys have some sick wings! I thought my extended '08 RSR wing was big... Looks like you would pop a wheelie if you go fast enough.

I was amazed that the 964 RSR's kept up with the other cars in the group. Makes my carrera 2 very happy, and gives her something to look forward to when she gets bigger!

Awesome shots of Fritz S in the red/white old school RS (#67) duking it out! Robert Newman right behind in his ex-Le Mans RSR. Thanks for posting!

The rest of my group 7 photos, taken from various locations above the apex of T9...

For what it's worth, I noticed a very large discrepancy across drivers on throttle application coming into Turn 9. Just generalizing here, but those who began the turn from mid-track were able to get to WOT well before the T9 apex, and were hauling the mail down to 10. (See the #2 944 for example). But those who swung wider to the right after the corkscrew, and began the turn from the outside had to ease up in order to make the apex, and many of those guys didn't get on the throttle until they were at the T9 apron.

I didn't get any photos of the latter group because I was more interested in watching the action - T9 being a more pivotal turn for lap times compared to the corkscrew. I knew from having driven LS a few times in the Skip Barber cars that a mid-track turn-in for T9 was preferable, but standing off to the side - on foot - made it much more apparent that the radius of T9 is 3-dimensional (almost like 1/2 turning; 1/2 falling). So just speculating... the disadvantage from a turn-in from the outside isn't just the extra yardage driven horizontally, but also not being able to make maximum use of gravity while under power down to the apex. Great driving by all, of course! The club racing was extra fun to watch! No photos to share from T5, but you guys were nailing that turn pretty consistently later in the weekend.

I was ready to snap that sequence, because it had been building up for the previous 2 or 3 laps!
