Monticello for 2011
Hello All
I am interested to find out which clubs are running at MMC this year for "non member" track days. I ran MMC quite a few times last year and to not return would really be a bummer. It is a shame that the track is now limiting clubs coming in, but am sure there will be some available dates somehow, no?

My neighbor across the street is a long-time racer in the corvette, A/C Cobra (real one!) and vintage jag racing circles....he apparently knows the CEO from MMC and he says he has heard they will continue to allow clubs as long as the economy is struggling.
I hope this is true....I tried to get into NNJR's event there last year and was waitlisted.
Would very much like to drive that course !

I got to drive there once last fall. It was a lot of fun, but I'm a long ways off from being able to put up the entry fee, so I really hope that they continue allowing clubs in

I did about 700 miles there last year and had a blast especially on the 2 days of open track with only a handful of cars on track at any given time. I have no plans on joining any club although if it was really nearby I would actually consider it. Then again, I really enjoy the camaraderie of the PCA events. Monticello is no doubt a fun track and the people that run it were very nice to me.
On the various track calendars I do not see any events with PCA, COM or SCDA at MMC. Too bad.

I don't have a definitive answer as to whether or not clubs will be running there this year, but I hope so. On the other hand knowing a member or two is always good for a few days, unless you've already used up all your Ari Days (koff, koff) Bob.

Posting on this just in case an open date materializes. I had a great time the last few years driving / instructing at MMC with PCA and BMWCCA. I think I had 10 days total...

Definitely a fun track, it was perfect place and environment (not many cars on track) to test my freshly built racecar to shake it down (E46 BMW)
