KV Racing retains Sato and Viso for 2011
4 February 2011
KV Racing Technology will contest the upcoming IndyCar season with Takuma Sato and E.J. Viso at the wheel of its 2011 cars. Both drivers have elected to remain at the team this year, with co-owners Kevin Kalkhoven and Jimmy Vasser hoping that continuity will prove to be the right choice throughout the championship.

"We are very excited to have Taku and E.J. back with us for 2011," Vasser explained. "The fact that both drivers are returning for their second year with the team gives us continuity in the cockpit. I believe that having a second season with the same driver and engineer combinations will be beneficial to our team and will produce some very positive results."

Both drivers are optimistic of a strong season in 2011, with the pair hoping to build on their experiences from the previous IndyCar campaign. Takuma Sato described his feelings ahead of his second term at the Lotus-backed team, as the ex-BAR Honda man is looking to improve on his 21st place finish in the standings last year.

"I am very excited to be driving for KV Racing Technology-Lotus for a second year," Sato commented. "This is a team with tremendous potential. Everyone back in the shop worked really hard to push the performance up over the winter so I am very motivated and ready to challenge in my second IndyCar season. I want to thank all my sponsors for their support and look forward to sharing success together very soon."

E.J. Viso added: "I am really happy to be back with KV Racing Technology. Last year was very successful, even if the results don’t necessarily show it. We worked very hard to develop the car and I think we showed we could be competitive. I believe the progress we made last year combined with the continuity we have with personnel will be a key to our success in 2011."

Not the F1 seat I had been hoping for, but a seat is a seat.

Carbon fibre ... be afraid, be very afraid.

I didn't know Takuma was Dutch - fashion forward with wood platforms.

Wood blocks for the win. All that $ in F1 and they could not find some other way? Set of steps on the side and he just happens to be one step up.

Because Jenson complained that he wouldn't want to be a podium step below Taku.

They had to use wood ... there was no carbon fibre left after the races.

Taku only knows how to drive one way .... Flat Out ...

He ought to get some sponsorship money from Dallara. He's definitely going to increase their sales this season.
