Racing Gloves
Anybody used any of the recent racing gloves that have the silicone grip patches imprinted on the nomex? I have a pair of karting gloves that are made this way and some of the silicone patches are peeling off. I really like my current Alpinestars racing gloves with leather palms and external seams, but it seems like most now use the silicone patches. I would be really pissed if they started to fail like my karting gloves, especially after kicking out $120+ for a pair.

What kind of karting gloves are they?
Its all personal preference, but the karting gloves are made a bit differently than the nomex gloves.
Really only one way for you to find out, buy them If they fall apart, send them back. Gloves are a wear and tear item though, most people who race/track often can go through a set a year.

I bought a pair of high end Sparco gloves that have tiny rubber{I think} cones on the palms. I've used them for a year and a half and they still look brand new. I do DE's once a month during the season here. Nice grip on the wheel too.

Well, I'm not too crazy about the patches on the karting gloves, but it seems that is the way most of the maker are moving. My race gloves will be entering their 3rd season, don't think they'll make it through, so thought I'd ask for feedback. Wish I could find another set.

Yeah I bought a pair of the new Alpinestars with the silicon bits. Not too bad in my experience... but they don't feel like they will last incredibly long. 1 season in and they are fine though. I don't like too thick of a glove so they do the trick, but I may try the heavier ones next time.
