Racing Gloves

greetings-
anyone have any fresh thoughts on gloves that have been working particularly well for you? i loved my sparco x-pro's from last season, but they broke down pretty quickly. several holes between the fingers.
what i really liked was that they are kind of thin with excellent feel for the wheel. maybe being thin means they last for a few months and that's it.?
just ordered a pair of the puma avanti- but i'm sending them back because they feel too thick. you see what i'm getting at here? i know lots of folks like the sparco tide...but at almost $200, i'd like them to last longer than a few months.
any ideas? the x-pro's are finished i believe. any idea what the "new" x-pros are called?

Sparco arrow racing gloves are the grippiest gloves i have ever had. I really like them but i don't shuffle steer.

You have to match up the glove with the wheel. Suede wheel wears through my suede sparcos pretty fast, the grip is good but if you do any shuffle steer or unwinding you will burn a hole thru them fast, so for a suede wheel I like the smooth soft leather palms. Suede on a smooth leather wheel is a disaster, no grip, you need the rubber buttons or smooth leather. After a race weekend my hands are pretty torn up; index finger (must be from all the point bys...) and thumb so I've fount the sparcos or the pumas have the pads in the right place for me.

old thread but the stand21 porsche racing gloves really look amazing. I love the look of the daytona model. I think the fitment of the outside seam version is very comfortable. I want to get a new pair myself in the coming months.
