Was this poll taken after Alonso gave Petrov the finger at the end of the Abu Dhabi race? If yes, shame on the team principals for supporting such a poor sport. The moment the race ended, of course as a Red Bull + Vettel fan I was happy, but I did not want to criticize Alonso or anyone else as I know just making it to F1 means you are an incredible driver let alone being a championship contender. But the moment I saw what Alonso did to Petrov was the moment I lost all respect for the big baby. Expecting someone to let you pass because they are a lap down is the norm, but expecting someone to let you pass when you are fighting for position all because you have an ego is laughable.

Looking forward to 2011. May the best car/driver win just as the best car/driver won in 2010.

Don't forget Rosberg was also next in line for the 1 finger salute...

Alonso never chokes or crumbles under the pressure.
It is, by definition and by sponsor decree, always someone elses fault.

I would like to present Exhibit A, as compiled by RayS, from post #698 in the Abu Dhabi thread.
I'm starting to understand the appeal of being an Alonso fan. The biggest benefit that I can see it that he can lose, crash, cheat, etc. and it's never his fault. It's his teamates fault, the tracks fault, the cars fault, the FIA's fault, the weathers fault, his tires fault etc.

I'll tell you what. I'll list a "reason" for a problem below by letter code. Then next year Alonso fans can simply list the letter code next year for anything that "the doubters" might try to unfairly pin on Fernando.

Here's my list.

a. Tilke's fault
b. Team interupted FA concentration with poorly timed radio transmission
c. Race engineers fault
d. Flawed race strategy
e. Bad Car Setup
f. Bad track
g. Bad weather
h. Car setup for wrong weather
i. Race fell on the wrong day in FA's menstrual cycle
j. Bernies Fault
k. FIA's fault
l. Lewis's fault for selecting him in the Rennlist poll
m. Slippery steering wheel
n. brakes too hot
o. brakes too cool
p. teamates fault
q. radio broke
r. poor track lighting
s. teams fault
t. sponsors fault
u. pit crew fault
v. lack of horsepower
w. poor speed in straights
x. poor speed in corners
y. bad aero package
z. understeer
aa. oversteer
bb. flat spot on tire
cc. team won't make him number one driver
dd. Stewards fault
ee. Aero wash from car in front prevented passing
ff. sun was in FA's eyes
gg. biorythms off
hh. failed to cheat properly
ii. teamate ignored team orders
jj. FA Hungover
kk. Invisible fire

Obviously the list is not all inclusive, but we can simply add any I missed later. I'm guessing that Abu Dhabi was a "f,a,i,l" but only Wayne knows for sure since he tracks her cycle.

Redbull, Ferrari, and maclaren have ****loads of it, they have the best test facilities, afford the best drivers and in my opinion will always be the winners in a money talk game. I watched the entire season this year and even though I support webber (bit patriotic) I felt vettel a more deserving champion. He had some unfortunate DNFs this year which seemed to me not to be his fault. This year he was the fastest driver. I don't play into this faux champ persona. This is the F1 game, who ever plays F1 the best is the champion. I enjoy watching the politics as much as the racing in F1, 19 races and every day another story or drama is pushed to the public from the teams to keep us entertained

I would have to disagree and say that Webbo would have been the more deserving champion , he was never given the opportunity by the team and despite such came very close and if Webber had won the WDC I would not have felt he was less deserving than Vettel , of the 3 front runners i actually thought he deserved it the most ...

Webber's season and especially his victory at Silverstone was Epic .

^ Interesting clips. Don't think there's much more to be read into the body language than you'd imagine under the circumstances but thanks for posting.

It's hilarious to see the Alonsette fanboys and apologists get 4 hour erections over this meaningless "poll". What tripe.

Seems to me the only "poll" that matters was the one that handed Vettel the 2010 WDC trophy.

So sorry Alonsette got outdriven by a Russian rookie in a French donkey cart when it REALLY mattered. And then gave him the finger for not pointing her by DE-style.

Alonso makes an attempt to pass in the tunnel of the Monaco GP on the outside line where the track is known by all drivers to be the dirty line with much less grip and what is Alonso's first thoughts after driving himself into the wall? "I must give the finger". Real class Fernado, real class. I am no expert in motorsports, but I was always under the impression that it was the responsibility of the driver doing the passing to do it as safe as possible. Now racing is racing and accidents happen in racing. But when you mess up and drive yourself into the wall, take responsibility for your actions instead of looking to blame the other guy.

See, an Alonso apologist would see that as "JUST GOOD DRIVING". Clearly he was able to drive with only one hand, while giving the one finger salute and going backwards after the other guy failed to lift or give him a point by. The track was also not conducive to passing and it was slippery and finally the sun got in his eyes.
