Just to clarify, on an SC the 9" rear wheels have to be fitted VERY well or there are problems. John at CCW has it 100% correct. His wheels are 10" overall, have a 5.5" backspace, and that equates to a 12.7mm offset. Any variation will either rub inside or outside with a 275/35 R6. As far as aero, waaaay beyond what we poor amateurs can measure

Lowering two inches decreases wind resistance but also has the effect of stiffening the chassis. See Fred Puhn "How To Make Your Car Handle". 15 inch effect may be more about suspension than gearing.

I like the one piece wheels also but not too many makers out there.

Fred - what brand did you get? Sounds like your are not happy, why?
i'm very happy with what i got... but thank god rolling fenders isn't considered a prep.

The CCWs I've had on my car put the tires VERY close to the spring plate bolts, maybe 3mm. I borrowed a set of Buckleys last month and they had at least 10mm of clearance without rubbing the outer fender lips. They seem to be the best bang for your buck in 15" wheels and as far as I know they are holding up well.

How much are the Jongbloeds?

Can't find them in Classifieds-Wheels for Sale John. They don't fit my car well anyway but maybe a link for the "search challenged" like me..

Sorry for the problems finding the wheels in the classifieds. I do not know what happened they were there a couple of days ago. Will repost. The wheels are listed in the member classifieds, PCA classifieds and 944 Cup classifieds.

There's the issue, those are widebody wheels, Gary is looking for Carrera body wheels.

It seems that BBS made a lot of 9" wheels with a 5" offset and they just stick out a little too far to work. Too bad as there seems to be quite a few sets out there. Be nice if there was enough meat to mill off about 3/8", then they would most likely work great..

9x15 ET12.7 has 10mm more inner clearance than the 9.5 ET19 I use, you could use 9ET13-23 w/o going any further inboard than what I have. Assuming that you have already relocated the oil line(I believe that you said you have) and trimmed the trailing arm bolts. Not saying you have to or want to, just that you could to gain room at the lip.

There is also the C3 RS 9x15 w/ ET3, it only weights 13.5#, but is also a widebody wheel, it would stick out too far on your SC.

Do they really rub on an SC with 275/35/15? Seems like the car would have to be slammed like a rice boi to rub with such low tires. I guess I will have to test on my car to see if they would work, the 245/45/15 fit and were awesome, like a mini RSR.

they don't rub with proper fender rolling.

Yep, Fred's flares were rolled out to the point they didn't have a lip anymore... looked more like eyelids than flares..
