I have a set of forgelines and a set of Jongbloeds. The Jongbloeds are sooo much lighter than the Forgelines. I think the weight really makes a difference. Get the lightest you can find that meet your needs and budget.
I like the one piece wheels also but not too many makers out there.
Fred - what brand did you get? Sounds like your are not happy, why?

I have a few sets of BBS/Mahle 15x9s, the offset is a very small # so they would rub with tall tires. But I have run 245/45/15 on them so maybe the 275/35 would fit ok. I want to try them, they would be great on my '73 at Lime Rock (hold 4th from no name to start finish, with power off the turns).
I will sell a pair of the 9s, they work GREAT with stock 8x15 fuchs in front which you can't beat for price/performance.

I think it has more to do with the acceleration out of turns (at certain corners on certain tracks) and the RPM drop between gears. Summit Point isn't one that stands out (if you can get you car to shift.. ) but the Glen is for sure...
Mike - if you get a chance please measure the backspace on the 9" wheels you have and let me know.

Not sure about the acceleration being the real benefit after running the set up for a full season... It helps for sure, but what data has shown is more of a benefit beyond 3rd gear. It could be a toss up, but an extra 5mph before braking at the bus stop at the glen is tough to match.

I bet they are also, 5" backspace. I know you have the only RL experience on those wheels Fred (among my friends), I just look at the gearing/acceleration data and it shows that the real advantage is in the reduced RPM drop and closer ratio they give the 3-4-5 shifts. I truly believe that the way our cars accelerate within their rather small powerband is greatly enhanced by the closer ratio. Of course I could be waaaaaay off too!
And i'll bring that 1/2 sawbuck over to you.

You display plenty on the track my good friend and that's all that matters.... and as I have never shifted my car into 5th gear, even to see if it exists, I can't wait to see it next April!

For me, they would be a great advantage at Lime Rock as I have a 7:31(?) R & P (and different gears?), so I'm between 3rd and 4th coming out of the three fast corners. I think the 275/35/15 would allow me to hold 4th and be in the meat of the torque range instead of bogging or doing an extra shift. The SCs are probably fine in 3rd, as your 3rd is longer.
The offset on these BBs is only 2mm, about 5" backspacing, so they stick out 1/2" more than my Fuchs 9x16 which have a nice 15mm offset and 5.5" backspacing. But they give you a NICE wide track so if they fit they'd be awesome. Did someone try Fred's wheels with the 275/35?

smells like tepid mildew once you shift to 5th gear after all these years of not doing it...

I believe that the 9 inch 911 wide body wheels were -3et and the early offset 911 and 944's work with a +15 offset using the 275/35-15's.
I have strained my capacities(mental) as well about the high speed advantage of the 15's and it might be partly attributable to the car being so much lower that it aids the areo on the long straights. Opinions?
