Does Centerforce make a clutch for a 944?

Yes they do, performance products was the cheapest if you use one of their discount codes the have been sending out lately. After twisting the center out of a sport sach disk at nationals I borrowed a Dual Friction setup, nice firm action and much more robust than a factory hubbed disk...little pricey tho...

Well, if we are showing off the battle scars of this weekend, maybe I should have taken this as a sign that the weekend was not going to go well. I painted this car last Summer, it has about 1200 miles on it. I pulled up on the trailer a little too far while loading it, and when I backed up, this happened.

I'm using the Vertex disc, after issues with the previous one. With the nekkid eye I can't see any substantive difference, other than $150 cheaper. It's working great.

Cheers

I have been around the racing of thes cars for 8 years. I have seen it all. I have seen powersteering pumps come off get lodged under car and really damage stuff. Alot of guys run without powersteering. I have seen tranny's fail and clutches fail too.

However when you consider 8-10 cars running 14 races a year for 8 year you will see stuff happen. Especially on old cars that were trashed to start with. Sometimes is the owner not giving enough attention to detail, sometimes it just 25 year old stock parts and it was thier time. Sometimes it just bad luck.

The good thing about most 944 spec races is that while you might see some issues most of the time the cars repaire and back on track the next day or leve later that day. The 944 camp has enough spares, tools and helpful competitors to keep the guys running.
