Have you heard of the new Intercontinental Trophy Cup series? There will be classes for both the Cayman and Cayman S, and races nationwide, at NASA events. This might be a viable option. I've heard some radio interviews on Fox Sports and seen the website, looks interesting. www.trophycupracing.com. I might have to go to a few races, even if I'm on the sidelines

In Continental Tire, formerly Grand-Am Cup, teams have been able to get fiber/composite panels approved, in order to make minimum weight. The series doesn't prefer to allow carbon parts for what should be street-stock racing, but it has happened. Depends on the series. Someone already does actually make one. I have the card somewhere. I think a few places might. We've had to try and strip everything to get our Caymans to 2700 lbs. It begins to get hard and requires creativity after a while. Some teams take it down to the tub and scrape every piece of anything from the underside! Lots of man hours involved in that quest!
Those power numbers are it though for the 3.4 engine. It's very high revving and can handle 7800 RPM in race situations for hours on end, completely stock. That assusmes full race headers and exhaust, DME flash, race intake (entire OEM intake system/manifold have been removed), pulley kit, lightweight aluminum flywheel, bulletproof glass, phone with scramblers, and the kitchen sink!

I bet one of those can pull a 2:03-2:04 at VIR for sure.
I hope that new NASA series follows through, but that they see light in making the actual Interseries cars spec (already 40 cars out there!) be their rule set.
Not worth it to fight over defining/controlling the Spec. Have organizations compete on who offers the best race venues / environment (just like with 944 and Spec Boxster)

Yep, that's plenty of HP! 8mph top speed faster than mine!
I bet one of those can pull a 2:03-2:04 at VIR for sure.

I do believe the intent of the ITC is to make it quite easy for Interseries cars to run in their series as well. If you have any questions about that, send them an email
