Leaving a car at the track (DE)
I have an upcoming DE at NJMP and while my car is street legal (928 hybrid w/straight pipes), its not exactly a joy to drive on public roads especially at rush hour when the track closes. If I left my locked track car there would there be anything to worry about?
Any advice would be great

It depends on the track and what the orginizer might of worked out with the track. I do like to drop off my trailer the night before, but have run into tracks that they don't let you. I would call the track to confirm. Don't know about NJMP, haven't been there.

There will be other events going on while you are not there, so I would park close to the store or security or somewhere NJMP employees are, and I would not leave anything valuable visible in the car (which is not easy if I remember my old 1987 928).
I would not be overly concerned, though. Its a pretty well controlled place in terms of access. Way better than the Philadelphia Airport, where I parked truck and trailer while giving a speech in the city. All was well when I returned to the truck, but I was a bit nervous.
Have fun at NJMP - I am just back from 3 glorious days at Thunderbolt, which I really enjoyed.

No sweat. I've done it in the past and it'll be there tomorrow night as well. Gates close at 7 so make sure you drop it off before.
If you're attending the Schattenbaum Thunderbolt DE, I'll see you there.

I am lucky enough to race locally. I drop off the car the night before and spend the night at home sometimes and nearly always leave the car at the track saturday night. I live 50 miles from the track and never drag it home.
I have never had an issue. I leave all my gear there two, but don't leave much stiff out. Tools and little things are lock up. Jack, jack stands and spare tires are left out. I often lock the car, but sometimes down.
The tracks I got have security all night and you can't get in out without going past security. That is not perfect, but has been an issue in 10 years of doing track days. Plus you can always try to park near someone staying the night an maybe put some stuff in a friends enclosed trailer.

Glad to hear that nobody has had problems doing this, the trick will be getting my car (#27) from the shop to the track before 7.

I'll be the guy the purists are chasing around with torches and pitchforks
