Summit Point Club Race - Who's in...?

It's too bad that track has gotten such a bad rap from years of half-assed repairs and promises of grandeur. First year I went down they had patched cracks and holes with roofing tar from Home Depot that became 1" tarballs that flew by your head like bullets coming out of the carousel. Next year I was told of the new repave and got down there to find they repaved with Ace Hardware Cold patch repair kits and T1, T5, T6 were an adventure. I hear now that "they did it right" and truly believe the guys that are saying it but between the bad turnout in the past, my severe lack of funds, and the "burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice shame on me" education I got I wish you guys the best and hope you have a great time. It REALLY is a fun track, it's the ownership (which I hear passed away and the kids are looking to dump the track) that is the problem. I WILL say that the BBQ that the region puts on almost makes the whole thing worth doing though!

Gary,
For the first time it is true that the re-pave of the " the line " has held up for an entire season.... And it beats the hell out of that tiny little boring thing they call Limerock ...

I 'll go if Paolo and Gary goes. We'll prolly have to sleep in Garys trailer to keep the cost down.
than again, not sure if I can listen to one more story of anyones sweaty left ball.

I am in, though I didn't get my car number since someone else got it who registered before I did. Didn't look at the counts for F class.
Gary, Paolo, and Bella, you must come down! The repairs have really held up well this year. Bill Scott's sone Jens is running the show and he had the repair work done right this year because the conditions were fine when I was there the week before NJMP. Come on boys, It will be a good time.
Plus I want to see Sztanko vs Moses II. I'll have a good view from a row or two back.

Summit Point is/has been my favorite track for years -- we hang out and camp there, the people at the track are very nice -- it's a comfortable laid back place the way a track should be! Try hanging out 5 extra minutes at The Glen and the security ***** throw you out.
Repaving a track is expensive as I'm sure you know! I'm glad they finally found a solution that works. You know if we all didn't keep running stickier and stickier tires then the tracks would hold up better!
Go and enjoy it!
I think I'll go since Stapleton is running in GTB1

I agree that it is a great track (layout) and if I had the $$ I would come down just for the BBQ (but if no peach cobbler i'm out!).. As for Limerock, it's all about those last few 10ths...

Had planned all summer to make Summit Point... thought it would be nice to see you again Mark. Now the Boss tells me that she would rather wait until Roebling Road.
