Nice job. Did the right thing. Spike Lee would be proud.
And a refreshing change from many Miata race videos- though not as exciting as cars pirouetting out of camera view in a cloud of dust.

Da Mayor: Doctor...
Mookie: C'mon, what. What?
Da Mayor: Always do the right thing.
Mookie: That's it?
Da Mayor: That's it.
Mookie: I got it, I'm gone.

I finally got time to watch the entire video... Man O Man, you can threshold brake! a few car lengths each braking turn...

Yeah, it was just a love tap, but, as we know, the overtaking car has the responsibility to make the safe pass.
-I'm guessing you took it easy after that, since it only took him a few laps to catch up. and not even that long to get him back clean.

Should be no hard feelings after that race! Congratulations!

Very fun to watch, it would make a great promotional video for SM....

Every time you passed the starter I thought he was leaning out of the box waving his black flag at you until I realized it was just some crap on your windshield

You two ran thru the field like Grant took Richmond. Were those the $25k motors I've heard about?....

You are a good sport, a well deserved win. I would have let him back by a lot sooner so you and he could have raced a little more.

Great move on that blue back marker.

Great driving & a very classy move to give up the lead...just to "earn" it back later!

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. I had a feeling this group would enjoy that one.

Nothing! He was mad about being beaten, and had been coached by the #10 driver (who ran me off the track at T7) that he should protest me regardless. But the next day he was cool about it.

Thanks Mark. Would you be surprised if I told you that both of those drivers were mad at me afterward, for being "too aggressive"? They were.

In a Miata? Whataya think this is, a Porsche forum? I have a new top of the line Race Engineering motor in my car. They cost $6K retail.

There was a thread awhile back about the some teams spending big bucks to built their "stock" 1.8 motors. Of course it was exaggerated, I just couldn't resist...

Great race and driving, I look forward to watching your race at Miller....

That was Tommy O? they were mad at you ?????? how funny. Ill have to raz him about that pass. I dont know if he ran you off the road, in fact, that was a very agressive move, no doubt. You got away due to Tommy seeing you there , giving you at least 2 wheels on the track, and carring to probably not do any body work to his car. If that were me and someone elses car, You would have been in the weeds. actually, you had a thread of space, you took it, which took *****, and kept your foot in it. if he hadnt seen you , that could have been a problem. so, I still think it was a great move. (outside of seven pass! sheeez! ) Then, you kind of closed the door on him on the exit of 7 and into 8 though, huh! .
The other pass on the leader on 7 was skillful and set up perfect. (after you let him by). again, your hit at 11 was totally the otherguys fault. late move to the inside, deserved to be tapped. that was cool . I just watched it again!
That was a great hard fought win. Good for you!

Now, i want to hear how tommy put that car together. new front clip?? or did they yank it all forward? (from his frontal crash at thunderhill last month)

Ahh, the "Invisible Hand" at work. Right or wrong, it would have been a hollow victory if you didn't pass him cleanly for the win. Great racing. You made it look easy.

What's up with the lights? Is this to tell other racers that they're about to be lapped? Can't imagine it's fun to see that.
