What are the specs of your car? GT4, cool! Nice job. were you behind me at the start or just behind JR at the start?
yeah, i got hosed, but was fun playing with Fab for a few laps and then catching up to Niel, and the 2 cars ahead of him in a little pack. JR was a ways ahead of that group knocking down a couple of seconds each lap.

great time. Great to put faces to the renlisters here. Glad I made it out there. It was worth it, even if was only for one race day!

Sunday wasn't as lucky, but still had a great battle for the whole race.

This was my first full weekend running in red with poc, and it's a lot more fun being the underdog in the slowest class and picking off the faster cars, than it was running at the front of orange.

Hey Mark,
Nice meeting you too and finally putting faces to people here as well. My car is basically a spec 996 with slicks on it. About 2950 or so with the stock exhaust system, and passenger seat in, and maybe 255 rwhp.

I started 19th, but then passed a ton of cars in turn 2 at the start. I was in that pack in front of Neil, battling it out with Steve in his gmg gt2, eventually finishing 12th. There was no way I was catching John. The only reason we even got close was because of the full course caution.

Great weekend. Not in Red, but in the Orange race running my CaymanSpec with the V3/R5 crowd. Took 2nd overall both days - qualifying at a 1:38.1 and running a 1:37.6 in the TT.

Great fun trying to chase down Alarcon and Monsalve.

Cheers,

looks like you guys had a great time!!!! I might have to build a real race 928 to play with you guys!!!

I see the guy who built my last 928 was there...Dan Aspesi from Speed Gallery.....I'd guess he was in a GT3 now

Dan was actually in a lightened 997TT with a wide body conversion. Motor is stock with and he runs 280/330 Yoko slicks. He took 3rd overall Saturday, and second Sunday. The car really quick, it turned a 1:40:9 at Cal Speedway last month in it's inaugural event.....

thats right. You opportunist you!!

it took me about half the race just to catch back up to you guys. and Im sure, neil would have been tough to get around, as he was actually in front of all of us. But, things change toward the end of most races. I didnt have sights on JR, as he was long gone but you 3, would have been fun to mix it up with!

I think Steve and I ran in that Superlap competition a few years ago at Buttonwillow. I recognize the stickers and the color. (996turbo) we were pretty close there. Its really too bad we ended under caution. Its been a very long time since that has happened. Hmmm, maybe last time I raced with POC back in '04??

Great fun. great job too. those are fantastic times for such low HP, even with slicks!

Yep, and Anderson said he was all over him in the Sunday race. He had a blast, with most of the fun coming from coming out on top again.

Motor is stock, and I dont know what he has done to it, but ive seen dyno runs of those " stock " set ups making 520rwhp. (just with the boost turned up) I wonder if thats what he has done. Anyway, I think mark runs about 1:41s at Cal speed way, getting 170mph down the main straights. That must be fun!

mark, i am in GT3 class.
unlike the rest of GT3 class, i am on R6 (if i ran slicks, i would be in GT2. i did ran a set of slicks for practice fun. i like them, bad news for wallet)

bob erhman #44 was fast. even faster in sunday's race.

jc3d and bill fox were fast on sunday too. i wish the GMG GT2 and the gray boxster (i was told it had 4.0 not 3.8) didn't sit b/n jc3d/fox and me. else the three of us would have had great battle.

i royally f'up on white flag lap and let GMG GT2 and big boxster by..... i was pissed. smacking my str wheel from T3 all the way to chk'd flag.

jrgordon MUST have KERS/nitrous/turbo in #30...
i give up trying to catch him, just hoping the old guy wont lap me.
seriously, john, thx for all your help.

it was great running with POC.
now that you are the board, can you get POC to come up to infineon next year. it's WAY WAY better than WS, BW, Cal speedway.

I would love to do a joint PRC/POC event there again. Unfortunately the POC traditionally just doesn't travel well and that's most exemplified at Sears/Infineon. Last time we scheduled a race there 3 years ago I think we only got 20 cars to make the trip. By comparison we had 130 cars at Laguna last weekend. Bunch of pussies....
