Hey! I resemble that!

Truth is, even in a far from stock older car, the new cars can beat up on you pretty easily.

Had the same conversation with my first instructor in my 90 HP 912. He kept telling me "More power" when I had the foot on the floor and it had been for some time.

As an instructor, I hate it when I'm nagging them to push the @#$@% gas pedal already, and they break that news to me :-)

I like the question, "when do you apply throttle in relation to the apex, in your 944"
Answer, "at corner entry!!!"

Me too. I've had "slow 914's" and "not as slow 914's".
I did pass an F40 at Sebring one time in my 914 GT. You should've seen that guys face. I think he was flat out.

And to think that when 944s came out they were at least mid-pack, acceleration-wise, with what showed up. I have pictures from time trials with an abundance of 356 Normals, 914 1.7s, and 924s. Hell, a good running 912 was considered kinda quick, and a 2.2T was really fast!

This calls for a head-to-head shoot-out between Ricky's yellow GT2 and the faded red 944.

Be careful there Jerome, she's put a lot of work into the appearance of the 9....44. You can call the car slow, you can call her slow, but you have to admit our car is actually shiny and red.
