You're right: my bad. It's my new motorcycle helmet that's 2010. Apparently, those are already out, and I'm out of my mind!

I've seen Kurt's helmet. I wouldn't want to put my foot in there either.

I heard that S2000 helmets are not legal for next season (2011). is that true? I have to buy a lot of gear next year. belts, suit, helmet, gloves....... There goes a race day!

10 yrs old, so I doubt many sanctioning bodies would allow it.
Time to turn it into a planter.

They are legal in SCCA Club Racing as the new helmets will not have been out very long.

The "M"or "SA" requirement varies between different clubs and regions of those clubs. Some PCA regions allow "M" rated, some do not.

The SA 2010 are due out Oct 1st. The SA 2000 helmets will phase out next year. Personally if you do more than 2-3 events a year, then I would pick up an SA 2005 helmet since there will be deals to be had on the remaining SA05 helmets once the 2010s hit the shelves . I found over the years that I want to replace my helmet after about 5 years of use. The liner gets worn, it starts to smell a little, even though I always wear a balaclava.
