Can anything be done to eliminate very annoying squeal or placing the stock pads is the only solution for street usage?

Thanks.....
Ahh the sound of performance.

Paolo:
I have yet to find a race/track brake pad that does not squeal when used on the street.

PF-97 on early 911/912. Silent. Wear like iron.

Really? Those are very noisy and if you get the dust wet it literally cements itself to the wheels. Definitely not a street pad...

There is a very simple solution. Drive flat out.

Threshold/trail brake for all highway exits and side street turn offs.

Mine never squeel on the street. When I drive flat out.

What dust? Mine last 3 years or so street and track driving mix. all you need to do is remove whatever existing motor you now have and replace with one that makes no more than 90 at the flywheel. Brake issues solved.

Oranges are just plain terrible pads... Glaze up like crazy on the rotors, which means they will grind and not squeal for a while on the street while cleaning up. Then squeal like a school bus.

As others have said, there's no such thing as a "compromise" pad you can effectively use on both street and track. I tried everything, including Porsche Sport Pads, Blues, Oranges, Cherries, etc.

I have had a great experience over many years with pagid oranges. However, you need to know how to break them in the way that seems to cure this.
You also need a brand new set of rotors, make sure they are very clean too, as you start the break in process. after that, you should be good.
the only pad i have not been able to stop from sqeaking is the pagid black racing pads.

. Yep, that is the way. years and years of street driving, lots of pad and rotor changes, and no sqealing here as well!
But, i beat the snot out of them during breaking them in. if you can see orange on anything less than a quarter of the thickness touching the rotor, they are not broken in right. the longer that goes not broken in, the greater the chance you may not stop the squealing. usually, a new rotor at the time of change, will stop this, and certainly, if the rotor has holes , it makes it much better . (not so great for the race track, but fantastic for the street)

Pagid orange stink. I am not alone in that assessment. I guess I (and all the others) just don't know how to use them properly

Like all pagids I have found they are excellent IF you use them in the right heat range. Once you get outside of it you quickly get into trouble. That's where I've run into the pad transfer issues. The range on pagids seems to be fairly narrow by comparison to other pads.

I have found, as have others, that Pagid Orange coat the rotors, resulting in rotor shutter. There are numerous threads on this.

If you have had good experiences with them - then congrats. But I was all too happy the day I never used them again ( I used them on an 87 Carrera with 930 rotors). The last thing I need is a finicky brake pad.

As for the advice of changing rotors every time you replace pads, well ... that's just beyond ridiculous.

Ive had the visual coating you speak of in using pagid orange pads, and I used them well over the heat range for many years, but only experience some fade but huge issues with the pads litterally falling apart when using them with much too small of rotors. (i.e early 928 S brakes)

Im now using the blacks with seemed to be much happier runnning at the temps i run them at, and they last a bit longer as well.
