Default Dry ice in cool suit?

Anyone tried this?

Anyone have any info about why it would not be a good idea?

DP, thought the same thing. Would love to hear thoughts on dry ice.

I gave up the look for reasonable peltier coolers. Wife frowned on my idea of opening up her wine fridge to "see how it works"

dry ice + water + sealed box = bomb....

Go find some youtube videos.

Pressure builds up due to the dry ice sublimating.

People keep dry ice in an camp cooler with regular block ice for week long extended camping. I don't think the cool suit coleman cooler is air tight.

Lets see, dry ice, gotta have some liquid for the cool suit, sealed container because all the cool suits run them. I would have thought that combo was enough to predict the outcome but I guess not.

I quick search on youtube showed this one,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wf9GW...eature=channel

I personally found it entertaining to watch for a couple of reasons, watch thru the end for the bounce to get the full entertainment effect. - You should like this VR !

BOOM.......but I wonder if it had a vent to bleed off pressure if it would stay cool longer...

But since the races are "sprints" I guess it doesn't matter....most coolsuits are rated for 2-4 hours right?

Reminds me of that SNL commercial...

Normally I wear protection, but then I thought "when am I going to make it back to Haiti"

Bad Idea

You do know what the gasses are that are bleeding off of the dry ice correct ?
In an open car I seriously doubt it would be an issue, and the gases go to the floor, but I still wouldn't risk that one either.

Seriously, if you really want to keep it colder longer try adding rock salt. Also use larger chunks/blocks of ice. Tupperware can help make DIY large chunks of ice if you can't find block ice where you live.

Want the water colder ? Try a very small amount of rubbing alcohol to a large volume of water.

even if you vented the lines, you might just freeze all the water and get no flow.
What you really cold do, is get a big bubble suite and use the cold Co2 as air conditioning and calll it a cool gas suit.

How about venting it out the back of the car into your competitors air intake !
