rock salt will just lower the freezing point, right? Dont think it will do anything with temps, will it?

Want the water colder ? Try a very small amount of rubbing alcohol to a large volume of water.

Yes, lowers the freeze points of the water.

IMO you don't want to introduce salt of any kind into a cool suit sytem, unless you want to replace hoses & your shirt every race due to mineral deposits.

I understand your opinion, but in my experience it works quite well. Of course you do have to clean out the system or over a period of time I am sure the deposits would collect and cause issues. - But is that much different than the algae that grows if you just use tap water, bottom line is you must clean the system regardless from time to time.

Just freeze your own blocks of ice in like one quart or half gallon containers vs. a bag of cubes, that is what i do and it stays plenty cold and makes me have to pee anyway. Dry Ice does not make sense to me as the MFG would have recommended it if it did. I would call them before I did any experiment.

I wouldn't want to see smoke from the dry ice venting from the car in front of me!!!!

I used my cool suit for the first time this weekend's DE. The big blocks of ice on Sunday worked way better than the bag o' ice on Saturday. I drive back and forth each day so Saturday night I fished a bunch of water bottles out of the recycle bin in the garage and froze them overnight. I put a gallon jug of water in the fridge and at 5:30 am loaded it all into the car. It stayed cold through the morning. At lunch I bought a bag of ice and refilled. Wore the shirt home since my a/c broke last week.

I've noticed that more people will watch things that are more entertaining.

Try this how to change oil video,

Now I know YOU know how to change your own oil, but I bet you still watch the whole video

The rubbing alcohol is a good idea - it prevents algae growth in the tubing. Cool Shirt recommends using block ice with some chunked ice and enough water to cover the pump. That will last the longest. They've also introduced a Maintenance Additive that prevents algae growth and lubricates the pump but I would at least recommend using the rubbing alcohol. Add 8 oz to cooler with water and circulate through the hose and shirt - or you can drain the shirt using a universal connector drain kit.

Where do you get the connector drain kit? It was a PITB to drain for me...

Default Cool Shirt Universal Connector Drain Kit

Here's a link that shows the systems and accessories. The universal connector drain kit is under accessories.
