No results on mylaps.com yet. Times were typical for most - I did set a new persoanl best of 1:45.6 on Saturday and then an even better time of 1:44.9 on Sunday. Unfortunately the competition was even quicker in most cases.

GTS does whatever NASA/Jerry decides. I think they get combined with Spec E30 a lot.

pretty quick. Nice job. Most of the group on the slicks, besides spec 911?

When is the next event? T-hill? maybe Ill join you guys before the end of the season. looked like a good group.

what did you place?

Doesnt spec e30, run in that unlimited group too? Doesnt sound like GTS has caught on too well, so maybe Ill just go back to my PRC roots. however, the bar is pretty high in the club now.

I think most if not all of the GT group run slicks - most the Goodyear bias ply that are required for the GTL class. Yes, Thunderhill in August is next up on the schedule, talk to Masuo if you want to run with us. I only ran GTS once and it was a small field and no real competition. Our GTL class has become very competitive and a lot of fun now that we have 5 or more at many events.

Thanks Ken, for the pictures. We had a great turn out for this event. Hopefully the remaining events this year in August and the season-ender in early October will have great weather and great racing as well.

Bob Stefanowicz' car is a tube framed 911, and I hear now has something like 900 bhp at the rear wheels. He was driving bias ply slicks for the first time this weekend as I understand things.

As Tom indicated, our GTL (L for limited) Class had quite a few cars with great drivers racing hard.

Mark: you need to be a NASA member and have a NASA license to race with PRC under NASA sanction. Having a current SCCA license may help with this process-- check with NASA. You will also need to make sure your car adheres to the NASA/PRC rules. And you need to review and adhere to the Guidelines for Racing which can be found in Appendix C of the Porsche Racing Challenege Series rules document.

You can download the documents from the NASA web site. I think your car may be in the GT2 class. I'd expect the fastest cars in this class to lap between 1:48 and 1:51 at Thunderhill (with the cyclone), depending on conditions.

I dont think ill have that much of a problem with licensing, as It is more of a renewal than anything else. remember, I did run with the PRC since the inagural race, back in '02 and the prior race groups it was made from (old chariot and porsche /bmw challenge series.)

Stefanowitcz, tube framed? i know its a facade body of a GT3RS, and over 700whp, but man, has he gone off the deep end?? what were his times? 36s??

anyway, Ill start the ball rolling. I think i want to do the nasa events, but dont think it will be GTS, due to that mayhem that could be in that group vs the PRC run group. dont know. but, kind of want to get out in a weekend with more production based cars. SCCA is just too much about the "other" types of cars and X-boxes that no one cares about that could take you out. nice also having the opportunity to help out with the DE, and talk to the ricers in the time trial groups . those guys are always so enthusiastic and fire up to be there.

are you going to make it out to race, or did you race?

Was that the long turn 7??? 1:38 would realy be a 1:36! thats like the GT3RSR from ALMS back when they ran the short turn 7 config and carocell!
If it is not long turn 7, the times are a little slow. that doesnt make much sense for guys i know running 1:53 when they should be in the 1:50s. (e.g. Berm Soonwalla in his spec 911)

Thanks for posting the times.

I honestly don't remember looking up the track on Saturday to see if they ran the long 7. (The Pro Formula Mazda that my cousin's kid raced did; and they also ran the motorcycle T9 chicane.)

Behram's engine had 3 holes with low compression. Jay got one working better Sat night, but they could only get about 100psi out of two others. It's coming out and going up to Gamroth for a freshening. 160ish hours on this one.

So what is the GTL class. what is so "light" about it? Looks like some formatable hardware in that class!

doesnt look like much of a race in GT2 after masuo and Sefanowitcz go flying off into the distance. guess, you just race with the other cars in the GTL class.

you guys must have been running long turn 7, right?

any incar video?? you guys are bad. I always grab the first couple of laps for you all. I never get to see a PRC race anymore at least you could take some video for us race-o-holics tryng to par back racing this year but still get a cheap thrill!

We did the normal T 7. I was 1.5 seconds off my personal best from our race in April. Some of the time was due to a set up change. Is it possible some of the lost grip might have been due to the NASCAR rubber from the weekend before?

Behram's engine had 3 holes with low compression. Jay got one working better Sat night, but they could only get about 100psi out of two others. It's coming out and going up to Gamroth for a freshening. 160ish hours on this one.
is 150 or so hours the average life for 911 spec motor?
how much to refresh such engine?
