Best performing tires sizes for 18" 9"f 12"r rims
Hi,
just want to make a small poll about best performing tire size choices.
quite obviously not all sizes do exist in some brands like hoosiers A6, toyo RA1, etc, but still I would like to see overall consensus of what tire sizes people put on most commonly.
thanks, paul.
PS. As it was noted below we obviously have different cars but I specified exact wheel size in my question, so, hopefully results will have some practical relevance, even if only from a statistical point of view.

Depends on your car...your 997 the best will be
245/305
or
255/315 downsized and lower your car.

When I had my 996 and my CCW Classic Race wheels (18x9/18x11), tire size was very dependant on when tire model I was running. With MPSCs, 235/315s worked best. Corsas (old style) liked being run wide, 255/315. R888s were terrible run wide; but ran great narrow, 235/295.
If I were to run the sizes you are indicating on my GT3, I would go 235/315 to start.

I was going to say it has a lot to do with the sidewall construction and grip level of the tire you are running. I don't think there is a one size fits all for every tire. I like shorter sidewalls on anything with sidewalls softer than a full slick. Big sidewalls are mushy on tires like NT-01. Especially on heavier cars.

is here anybody who could confirm if shaved kumho v700 265/35r18 on 9" wide rims with 50mm offset fits into 997 narrow body cars? shocks are stock but LCAs are from GT3 so wheel is pushed out a bit more than stock - does it give enough clearance to fit 265 tires?
