After seeing the Boxster view....looks like just clean, strong racing...

I would say all went very well for the accused...he made a fine, strong move and came up second. The mistake is on the red car for not being aware at the start of a race that someone might just be looking inside before turning in...

The perspective from Charlie's camera puts it in a new light. #182 was watching the Red car, and not looking for you. Maybe he thought that he was clear. IMHO you were way to far to the right. Once you knew that you could not go down the inside, I think that you should have tucked in right behind #20 before #182 got there. That would have blocked him or at least made him go wide.

Just seeing Charlie's video now. Agreed.

If Sean wasn't as quick reacting that move would have wrecked the entire front of the field. Looks like he came up on Chris under braking/turn in and swerved in to avoid contact with him. Sean's only mistake was not to tuck in behind Bela earlier, may have blocked the move around Charlie.

Thanks for the video Charlie, that's very helpful. It does change things some, but the fact remains that I was occupying that space (right or wrong) and had I not moved, we would have wrecked. Kris (red car) was turning in and the 182 was behind him, he had every right to take his own line. The 182 did not earn the right to be under him in PCA rules, he was clearly behind him. This is a screen grab when Kris is turning in

Sean, I don't think that anyone disagrees that you owned that inside line. What I feel is that with a little defensive maneuvering on your part it would not have come to that. Just helping you with your racecraft.

I'm trying to learn from this. Supposed the OP had lost it in the dirt, and contact had been made, or that he had held his ground and contact was made. Who would have earned the 13? I think it would be 182, but I'm not clear and would like to hear opinions.

From either perspective, that's some aggressive driving - what kind of prizes do you guys get for these races - must be worth the risk of wrecking those nicely prepared cars?

Understood and appreciated Larry, but I think what's hard to see is that I thought I had a chance at the corner long after I would have made that move. It's difficult to see in Charlie's video but more clear in mine.
