ROBIN HOOD RALLY !

I took a ride up there on Friday to see if this stupidity was as we had suspected. I was about 20 minutes late, as they were cleaing up this carnage just when I arrived. It was the second wreck of the day, and they were only a handful of runs into the program. One guy was already hospitalized with injuries from an earlier wreck in an Audi.
The timing and scoring people were wishing they'd never gotten involved with this event, none of their suggestions for safe practices were being listened to. If they'd not have moved the scoring table back 10 feet just before this run they'd all be dead.
Wrecked cars were being sequestered in a corner under covers, I was told that if I posted any pictures on the internet I'd be prosecuted, as this was all being done under some copyright.
Worst of all, the camera crews were delighted, as they'd captured it from 3 different angles!

I won't mention names here, but;
That guy owns the BMW that is about to be totalled. He dove out of the way for his own life. He had just repaired that car from its crash in NH.
The guy leaning on the pickup truck, whom we all know, is obviously the coolest cucumber in the world.
Very glad that they, and most others are ok. Same can't be said for some of the drivers, but the organizers are keeping that a secret.
To them, "that's showbiz".

Yeah, and when it does it will set racing back as if that's what our sport is about.
I've hated this event from its very inception and tried hard to keep some of my friends from participating. I know that the mayor of Tuxedo was also told ahead of time that this was not going to be a good thing to support, but he went ahead anyway, apparently because he saw $$$.

One thing that hasn't been discussed yet is how the f*ck that guy lost it there. I'm assuming that was the end of the stage. Either the course setup was pretty stupid and they had a high speed turn right before the finish of the stage where lots of people hang out or the guy lost it in a place he should not.
Or, maybe it's not the end of the stage.

it's the end of the stage, there is a big rise just before entering the timing lights. The timing people told the organizers that this was not a good situation and the lights should be moved down the hill a little, cars would be very light coming in here, with spectators all around, but it was another example of them not wanting to hear about it. I don't think they can arrest me for posting this shot.

It totally speaks to the "character" of the douchebags who made that claim.
