What's with all the flames coming out of these cars as they crash? Do they have the fuel tank attached to the rear diffuser?

Maybe gear oil leaking out of the rear transaxle or motor oil...both of those are "stressed" parts of the chassis and could easily break/crack in an impact like that. It could be a fuel line break, but the fire seems to go out too easily/quickly to be a fuel fire.

Yeah, I didn't think it's the actual fuel cell rupturing, but that's a lot of fire in one accident, compared to most other series where you never see so much smoke and fire (unless it's KERS related and Kimi's driving )

I heard if you fly over the chicane, you dont have to insert yourself in the position you had before you took the shortcut.

I wonder if the lead car in that crash checked up, causing the incident. It seemed to haopen well before the braking area.

Holy Code Brown moments, Batman!

Yet all 3 cars ended up on their wheels, not upside down.

When following you have to brake WHEN the car in front brakes and turn WHERE they turn. Looks like the back couple of cars were not anticipating the accordion effect and that is what happens with open wheels (or even closed wheels under fiberglass or CF).

I give him a 9.5 for height, but only a 7.0 for difficulty (twists & tumbles). Bonus of 8.0 for pyrotechnics and 9.0 for the landing (really stuck the landing but didn't finish with his arms out for drama.

yeah but there's a full twist in there, I've never seen that.
Patrese once did a full back flip, though.
