Attention PCA Club Racers who are going to the Lime Rock Club Race
Hudson Valley Region is hosting a DE at Lime Rock on Tuesday April 6. I've been informed by the track that, for a fee, we can run our event unmuffled from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Before we decide to pay the fee and run an unmuffled event in the afternoon, I was wondering how many club racers would register for our event to get some seat time at Lime Rock in your unmuffled cars before the club race.
Since our event is three weeks before the club race, if any issues arise with your car, you would still have time to order parts and fix it.
Please post your thoughts. If the response is overwhelmingly positive, we would strongly consider changing our DE to an unmuffled afternoon.

What's up at LRP that unmuffled days are becoming available? Is there no pro racing there this year? I worked in lakeville for 5 years and had all the details but haven't be there to hear the gossip in 1.5 yrs.

Tuesday afternoons are normally the test and tune days which are unmuffled. It's about a 15% increase in track rental cost to run unmuffled in the afternoon. We're still not at the break even point for the regular DE cost, so I need more drivers to register.
If enough drivers (20) express interest in driving unmuffled, I would re-work the DE schedule and likely combine run groups at the end of the day to maximize track time for everyone. As it stands now, we will likely be running four run groups which would give each group 2 hours of track time without combining groups.
For those of you who haven't attended a Hudson Valley region DE before, be aware that I always endeavor to combine run groups to maximize track time in order to make the event more enjoyable for all.
