Latest news is that Katy's condition is slowly improving. Looks like they are going to start weening her off the respirator. However, she has needed additional surgery.

I'm also in.
I have friends in a similar situation, under-insured due to costs for contractor self-employed.
Hell, I work for a $1.5B Corporation but a public option would still be better than the "consumer-driven" United Healthcare crap they offer us.
Glad she's showing some good signs, hugs for the kids!

Just chatted with Al on FB. He's exhausted, but hanging in there. He's very thankful for our help. Not a lot of news, but there's an update on his blog.

I'm in a sense trying to repay for all the help we got when my wife was diagnosed with cancer six years ago. People popped up from all over to help us. Time to help return the favor.

I've continued to follow Al's blog, and the FB site. Lot's of ups and downs lately with Katy's condition. I have some minimal experience in dealing with the medical system advocating for a family member, but Al's diligence and fortitude is truly inspirational. Hang in there Hayes family!
