A Mazda with straight sheet metal! Either new, recent reconditioned, or Photoshoped!

Looks like a real nice car, congrats!

Ha! Thanks! Yep, with a Porsche I had spare brakes. With a spec pinata, you just keep a spare car!

Nice looking car. Straight and clean. Hasn't been raced. Not in SCCA anyway.

If what's on the hood is any indication you've got a sponsor with very deep pockets...

Me too! I just bought this one used last month. Now doing some upgrades & getting it ready for the race season to begin.

I started with a 996, moved up in speed to the Ariel Atom, and now down (way down) in speed but up (way up) in depth of competition, to the SM. FWIW, threads on this forum contributed to my decision to pull the trigger and move up from track days to "real" racing. I arrove & drove SM's for several races last year & fell in love with them.

I didn't think Miata's came without black donuts on the doors and wrinkled corners...

You hit the nail on the head...fierce competition and an excellent learning tool.

Yup. A new Drago build. He did a great job...couldn't be more pleased with the build. Jim is also a very accomplished driver and took 2nd last year in the runoffs. Knows how to build a fast car and drive them too.

I think the spec M's are a great choice and reasonable to race. Good luck guys! At least wear a Porsche logo on your helmet or suit though. Maybe tow with a Cayanne.

Drago builds one hell of a car. Of course with one of his cars, you have no one to blame but yourself for not being at the front of a 50 car field

Don't let these PCA babies give you a hard time.... every one of them that i've put in a miata hasn't looked back yet!

Enjoy!

Good looking car.
I helped Rob on his first weekend in your old car and he did very well. You guys built a great car. It ran all weekend without a hicup.
