wheel offset question... 996 GT2
If you were trying to fit a 275 up front on a 996 GT2. and had a wide fender.. what offset would work best?
i am guessing around a 30et with a 10 inch wheel?

Leh, I am just going through this with a 993 nb adding the GT2 clubsport flares. I put a 275 up front on a 65mm offset 10inch rim and it fits properly. I am sure Rick Deman will know. Good luck at Daytona.

Leh,
On a GT2 as long as the front upper strut mounts are rotated (this moves your strut inward for clearance) and you have more than -2 camber a 275 will fit with an ETof 40 and lower... on a 9.5" That is what I used on a narrowbody 996 C2 with GT3 susp.
The ET30 with a 10 is the right direction.
Good Luck,
-Paul

I ran a 10"x18" ET33 with 285 Hoosier A6 in a 996 GT3 and stock fenders. ET30 should be just fine. I rolled my stock fenders.

Is this one lap stuff? One guy fit a 10" wheel on a 996 C4S in cali with no wider fenders, just a little modification to the fender liners.
I've settled on 9.5 to keep from all the hassle. But I sure would like to have a 10 inch wheel in the front.

I don't like to stuff. I like shorter sidewalls depending on the tire because they are more responsive and give more feedback. My car is not an all solid race car so there is flex everywhere else, I can do without it in the tires.
Plus it's a VERY VERY VERY tight fit without fender flares. I need to keep the profile as low as possible. Though I know sometimes tires manage to go down in sidewall and up in size.
If it were slicks, or maybe an A6/R6 I might consider, but treaded R-comps are too soft in the sidewalls to have too big of a sidewall for my heavy car.
