Default HANS question

Is there any other difference between the Sport series and the Professional series beside the weight?

Just trying to justify the price.

Weight due to materials.

Personally, I've never understood the issue of reducing the weight since it is held down quite firmly by the belts (and hopefully stays there), so the contact pressure is far in excess of the device weight....in other words, it is not 'unsprung mass' on the neck like a helmet.

And BTW.... 5W-50 and a F350 dually (inside forum joke)

I have the sport and love it. Like the previous poster said, the actual weight of the Hans has almost nothing to do with the pressure you feel. Your belts cinched over the Hans applies the pressure.

Unless the cool look of Carbon Fiber is worth the extra money to you...

I went with the sport, the only thing I know that was different other than the weight was where the belts come over it was either wider or had more of a lip.

My Pro has nicer colors for the pads. Very much worth the extra $$.

Good thing I bought the "Extra" version 2 years ago and don't have to agonize over the "sport" vs. "pro" decision.

Happy Thanksgiving !!!

That is what I heard. Some peoples reported the belts slide off with the sport series.

If that even happened it was more than likely due to a poorly mounted harness system.

Yeah, I figure it's for girly men who like to parade around in the paddock with it.

That's a common problem with 3" wide belts (it's apparently meant for 2" belts), and I believe it applies to all HANS models.
