Yes, folks get together thru the website and member sign-up calendar.

Lots of members are instructors. Ability to bring in coaches for one on one instruction. I think they just had or will have a reduced cost membership special, perhaps worth a call.

Yes, I have done a bunch of coaching there. Very good coaching/training track IMO.

This, hands down, is the beauty of private tracks - MSR in my case. DEs are still fun but require a full weekend commitment. I can run out there and get in 2-3 sessions on a Friday if I have some free time, or a weekend morning or afternoon easily. Saturday, I ran out to MSR after a morning of family activities, got 4 sessions in and was back home in time to shower for our dinner plans.

I'm 100% happy that I got a membership at MSR, it's given me a great opportunity to bring friends out to the track and get tons of time with a lot less waste/frou frou of DE environs

Yep, I agree with Bob & CJ. I can buzz out to Eagles Canyon, hop in the car, knock out a few sessions & be at the office by lunch. Works great

For perspective, two-day weekend DEs with Lonestar Region, usually at TWS, are 265
I would join in a heartbeat if there was something decent near me for that price...the closest thing to me is Autobahn $35K to join plus $4k/year.

I live in Chicago and did an "Autobahn Experience" day (basically DE)... very cool but I agree the price is a bit ridiculous, I wish they had a cheap-o version of their membership...

what does monticello or whatever in NY cost? 100k? some tracks go over the top with membership fees because (like a nightclub or restaurant) they allocate their budget to the wrong stuff (like having a swedish massage spa on site)

good club member tracks are simple- tracks and garages! and a gas station close by. too much frou frou crap at the expensive ones for sure.

I just think I'd get bored with whatever track it was. And driving on track by yourself, which happens a lot with memberships (unless it's all member days), can get boring from what I hear.

We were trying to get a group together to start a sort of track club for AMP (if it ever happens) so we could schedule days to go together. That would make it more fun, but coordinating schedules would not be.

FYI, got this today.

"December Membership Special (Through 12/31)

For anyone who has a friend on the fence about joining, we're offering a membership special through the end of the year.

If they join and pay the initiation fee before 12/31, they'll pay nothing in monthly member dues until July of 2010. In addition, they can run sessions anytime they want without charge for the rest of 2009. "

I'm hearing that the Lime Rock Driver's Club is failing, only 6 members so far.

There's a lot to be said for running a variety of tracks.

When I was just starting... an instructor stressed the importance of running different tracks. One of the best recommendations ever.

I suspect there will be ample opportunity to run @ AMP...

just like there is at Road Atlanta, Barber, VIR, and Sebring.
